Maureen Denise McCormick was born on August 5 1956, in Woodland Hills California the youngest and only daughter of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her family consisted of an aunt who worked as a housewife and a father who was a teacher. Michael Dennis Kevin, her two brothers older. Beginning at a very early age McCormick was a singer and dance, and she would frequently present puppet shows to the neighborhood children. At the age six, McCormick was crowned at the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley competition. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called McCormick to inquire whether she was looking to pursue a career in showbusiness. Her first major role came in 1964 which was when she appeared in a television commercial featuring Mattels baby doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year she starred as Chatty Cathy in a commercial and was then cast for The Wind It Up and It's Breaks at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick won a 1969 audition from more than 1200 children to become one of the oldest twins on The Brady Bunch TV series The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed together with Robert Reed. The show lasted for five years. In her autobiography Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice published in 2008 McCormick disclosed that during the fifth season, she almost lost her virginity due to her onscreen co-star and brother Barry Williams. He was just 19. She was just 16. She said but the timing wasn't right for us.
